Product Description

Intended Use
Measuring of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in human serum or
plasma. For Research Use Only - Not for Use in Diagnostic
Procedure.

Discussion
Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL) is an enzyme that hydrolyzes the
triglyceride (TG) in 'very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL)
that is synthesized in liver through endogenic metabolic
pathway and chylomicron (CM) that is synthesized in small
intestine through metabolic pathway depended on food
intake. Abnormal function and deficient of LPL are
recognized in type I, type IV and type V hyperlipidemia and
decreasing of LPL is considered as one of major risk
factors of high triglyceride hyperlipidemia

Principal for Measurement (Latex Immunoturbidimetric assay)
LPL proteins in the sample bind to the specific anti-human
LPL monoclonal antibody, which is coated on latex
particles, and cause agglutination. The degree of the
turbidity caused by agglutination can be measured
optically and is proportional to the amount of LPL in the
sample. The change in absorbance caused by this
agglutination is measured to determine LPL concentrations.

Features
- Using high specific monoclonal antibody.
- High sensitivity
- Excellent reproducibility can be obtained with an easy operation.
- No disturbance caused by co-existing substances.
- It can be applied for standard automated machines.

Measuring Samples
Serum, heparin plasma (Both Preheparin and Postheparin are applicable.)

Measurement range
10~ 400ng/mL

Sensitivity
Absorbance of standard A (0 ng/mL) is less than 0.01.
Difference between Absorbance of standard A (0 ng/mL) and
absorbance of standard E (200 ng/mL) is more than 0.1.

Standard set and Control set are included in this kit.
Please refer to the following product if you don't need the standard set
and control set.
